Ever since I became a diver, I have been drawn to Mexico to explore the freshwater caves. I had the opportunity to dive in a hidden gem located in the heart of the jungle in Quintana Roo. I got goosebumps as I descended and became aware of the enormous depth and darkness of this cenote. The only source of light is a single beam that penetrates the depths and illuminates the sulfide cloud at a depth of about 30 meters. It seems as if the beam of light reaches into the unknown, the darkness, the 'ad infinitum'. A dive I will never forget.
