Walking down the barren alley towards the sea as the setting sun glows on the walls, I smell the salty ocean air and listen to the meow of the silly stray cat I just befriended. This is nice. I feel the warmth of the sun on my skin and the sand tossed along the concrete under my feet.
Suddenly, as if on cue, a cool breeze sweeps in, tempting me to stay a little longer and relish the moment.
As I step down on to the sand, everything slows down. I am fully present. In times like these, I'm reminded of how important it is to let go, forget about your problems for a minute and simply live in these beautiful moments. I'm getting better each day at enjoying the beauty of the world around me. It's always there, it's just up to me to look for it.
