Salpichroa origanifolia is a flowering plant in the Solanaceae family. In Spanish it is known as “huevito de gallo” or “uvita de campo” because of its sweet fruits, which are similar to grapes in taste. Its common name in English is Pampas lily-of-the-valley. It is native to Brazil, Uruguay and Argentina and it can grow in a variety of habitats, including disturbed areas.
