The place of endless opportunities, New York City. I’ve always had a soft spot for the Big Apple from going to Broadway shows as a child to visiting my sister in the Lower East Side. The idea of living here always seemed daunting to me, but in 2021 I took a leap and signed a lease in Brooklyn. What I’ve always loved about the city is the sheer energy. Even before moving, I always found myself in the most peculiar of circumstances and events while in the city, meeting such unique souls from a vast diversity of backgrounds. You could fill a billion lifetimes listening to all the stories this city holds. That’s exactly what I was thinking about in this moment after taking a helicopter above it all to get a different perspective on my new home. Mesmerized by the sheer capacity of New York City, I let the fear of being a thousand feet in the air, strapped into a no-doors helicopter, slip away. Amazed about the fact that over 8 million stories were unfolding below me, I was beyond humbled.
