We drove through the Swiss valley amid the orange larches until we passed the tree line. Past a reservoir high up in the mountains. The adventure had begun. Full speed ahead we cruised the deserted gravel roads above the lake, frolicking, looking for the perfect spot for an evening campfire.
The black and white processing gives the image a depth, an element of style, which I very much appreciate when it fits thematically. It could be a cover for a magazine or a giant Landrover ad in Time Square.
But that's only one side of the coin. I love the adventure, but I also love the diligence that comes with it. No one would guess that I spent a full 3 hours in the trunk of another SUV, driving up and down, just to take this picture. Sharp, in perfect line with the lake and mountains in the background. The light stars of the spotlight and the motion blur in the foreground had to be perfect.
It's my therapy.
