If Vincent Van Gogh could paint with the northern lights, I imagine it would look a little like this. Photographing the northern lights is one of the most exciting pursuits I have undertaken as a photographer. Standing in the cold, dry air with frozen toes; desperately hoping to catch even the slightest glimpse. And when it does graciously appear, it is simply one of the most beautiful sights to behold.
The polar lights billowed from the mountains and stretched far up into the sky that night. And for about 30 seconds (until it disappeared), I was like a 4 year old child opening his presents on Christmas morning. If it were not for the images captured, I would probably question if it had been real or a fanciful dream.
Image captured in Norway.
