"On the threshold, one no longer asks why. One simply stands".
Sometimes you reach a line where all the old explanations fall silent.
No more "because", "in order to", "what if". There’s only the plain fact: you are here. And the silence around you isn’t empty, it’s the end of excuses.
In that moment you see something brutally simple: your whole life up to now was movement away from this exact spot.
Running, explaining, planning, hurting, hoping—anything to avoid standing still and looking straight at it. Now you look. Nothing dramatic happens. No one comes to save you. No one comes to condemn you.
You just stand and for the first time in years you don’t have to prove anything.
Not even to yourself.
That, perhaps, is the deepest freedom a person can bear: to exist without any reason required.
No goal.
No story.
No "what comes next"
Just being on that thin line and not panicking because it is so thin. And in that quiet standing you suddenly realize: maybe the entire point of a life was to arrive here and not turn away.
