In India, whenever a 'Shubh' or Prosperous event takes place, Lord Ganesha is the first God to be remembered. It is likely that you'll find one or two images of Ganesha in Hindu Indian households. Ganesha has been portrayed in different forms and styles. This flexibility to portray this God as freely or artistically as you want is one of the factors why people get affected by his energy. Lord Ganesha is the harbinger of good news and the remover of obstacles. That is also the reason why people worship him before starting out on a new venture. These beliefs may or may not be personal, but they have a huge impact on how our culture has been shaped over the centuries. I'm not a big religious person, but I've always felt this connection with what Ganesha symbolises. Life is all about being truthful, kind and loving to the next person you come across. Ganesha is known for blessing devotees with prosperity & good fortune.
