Came a day where I was met with death:
To the cat I left behind, I’m sorry, but death doesn’t bargain.
Death doesn’t see the world the way we do.
Death just takes you out of it.
I have no memories prior to death, but I knew I lost something more than a memory, more than life itself.
In a world unknown, with no memories to trace,
I was reborn in a different time and place.
I was no longer human,
But I followed feelings that made me human.
Journeyed through realms, both near and far.
Until one fateful day, destiny alighted.
Understood where my heart was leading me,
To Earth where I left you behind.
Even though I was born a different being, my cat came and stood still.
Looked at me with eyes that recognized.
Purred, and I realized this is the purr that welcomes me home.
Not even death did us apart.
