24 hours prior, there was sunshine. We looked up to see Assiniboine stand in 3600m of glory on a backdrop of clear blue, not a cloud in the sky to distract from its majesty.
Overnight, the smoke abruptly returned. Assiniboine became nothing but a memory, a faint outline on the horizon. And so we looked down. We noticed details that previously went unappreciated. We watched the bees seek out their elixir amongst the vivid flora. We found beauty in the micro rather than the macro.
