After hiking in the rain for several miles I finally set up camp. I put all my belongings in my tent, wet, hoping to prevent my clothes and gear from getting even more wet. The sun came out for a bit and I took the opportunity to take a dip in an alpine lake--a reward for carrying my heavy pack but also to remove the combination of sweat and rainfall that was sticking to my skin. After my dip I was making dinner at camp with friends when the rain started again. I said out loud "I'm manifesting a rainbow for us all." We were tired with no dry clothes--some sky magic was much in order. About five minutes later the biggest rainbow appeared. I began sprinting the mile back to this lake to capture it. I was so in awe of its beauty, so perfectly placed above the mountain and lake, with wildflowers all around me. For a brief moment, alone on this lake, I was in a magical dreamland that felt so surreal I couldn't imagine it was my own reality. I asked the universe for a rainbow and there it was.
