Story:
One of the most famous lone tree amongst the locals, the "Winter Lone Tree" was a piece created during the cold winter months when the leaves have fallen and there were nothing left on the tree. This lone tree was located in the middle of an empty field, which made it a perfect subject to photograph
It was a clear sky and a bitterly cold night when I headed out to photograph this lone tree. After nightfall and dinner, I packed all my gears and drove 25 minutes to the location. Everything was quite straight forward leading up to the preparation of the shoot, I set up the camera, tripod and drone as per usual. However, my fingers were so cold I couldn't feel a thing during the shoot.
Half way into the shoot, I made an error by sending my drone too low and too close to the branches during the process of shooting, due to my fingers being too cold. The next thing that happened was the drone crashed into the branches, and fell onto the ground, I ran all the way to retrieve the drone to check for potential damaged but luckily it was only the propellers and part of the LED lights that were damaged.
I didn't have any spare propellers with me after the crash that night therefore I had to abandoned the shoot. I had to pack away and count my lost that night but luckily the drone was still fine and I've still managed to come away from the that night with some photos, this was one of them.
