Nothing brings me greater pleasure than purple. Purple is royal, magic and mystery. Purple, plum, violet, magenta, thistle, lilac, mauve or indigo — I’m not picky. I’ll take all the hues between red and blue.
Purple used to be worth its weight in silver, did you know that? First you had to find thousands of special teeny-weeny little sea snails, **crush** their shells and **rip** them out. After, you’d need to soak them, before removing a miniscule little gland which you would then **squeeze** all the juice out of.
The juice then sat in the sun, where its light would turn it white, then yellow-green, then green, then violet, and finally, a red which turned darker and darker. You had to be very careful to **stop** at exactly the right time to obtain the colour you wanted. With 12,000 snails, you might have enough dye for the trim of just one silk garment!
But fear not, such violent ends are no longer necessary. If you want to be wrapped in purple, all you only need to do is ask me.
