I moved to the mountains from the prairies three years ago having never climbed a mountain before. Now I cant stop. I love the freedom, the discovery, the challenge and the mindset it involves to execute an objective. There's no better place to escape, and not a better reminder of how insignificant we truly are when standing small amongst these titans of time.
So here we are, tucked in tight to the cliffs edge on a cool summer morning in British Columbia. A long night under the stars, my eyes are heavy, but as layers of diffused light cascades across the distant peaks my heart skips a beat. The sky catches fire, and the landscape begins to transform into a dreamlike scene before me. Every fear and discomfort melts away during these moments of harmony. A new day, and a new dawn. The mountains are where I find myself and my calm. The mountains are home.
