I've always wondered why I feel a sense of renewal standing in front of, and sometimes underneath, these powerful transferrences of electricity from the earth to the clouds. No matter how difficult the circumstances of life are, stepping into some of nature's most deadly and hottest currents brings me back to life. I can't help but feel life from lightning, even as it has the power to remove that life from an unsuspecting person with a millisecond burst of electricity.
Through it all, seeing these channels of light reminds me that from cloud to ground, car to car, city to city, and person to person, we are all connected to this cosmos in a most energetic way.
