Survival Journey

“We took the boats out into the near toxic waters every day. We searched and scavenged for anything that would help with survival during the interplanetary wars. This part of the once idyllic shoreline had become home to millions of refugees like us and we all battled the daily struggle. Despite this, being on the water did bring a little peace to my soul.” This photo was taken on the shore of Barry Island and transformed into a sci-fi scene. The colour grading of the various layers provided the biggest challenge for this one. I wanted to focus on the lighting from the low sun but contrast it effectively with the shadows and the darkening sky. I wanted also to create a sense of another world ravaged by both war and catastrophic climate conditions. Created in Adobe Photoshop June 2022
