“They had sent warning that retribution would be swift and severe but no one fully comprehended the scale of the devastation. When the peace negotiations collapsed, it was only a matter of time before fighting broke out. Everyone expected years of skirmishes across the galaxy but our enemy had other, far more lethal plans. After the warning, came days of nothing. Eery, quiet and unnerving peace. We know now that they were simply manoeuvring their army of satellite blast canons into position. On day 8, they torched our beloved planet, heating it beyond human habitation. Some made it on to shuttles and escaped. Most did not. We were the lucky ones.”
Took the original photo in my home town and always loved the idea of adding elements in, with some delicate photo manipulation techniques. To fit in with the futuristic cyber vibe of the collection, I chose the pink/red pallet and worked it into each element before carefully grading them together.
